Incredibly stupid question about alarms

I tried searching, iddn't see anything because this question is probably ridiculously simple.

I set alarms and calendar notes on my mogul but it never goes off if the phone is idle. I have to have the screen on for the alarm to go off.

is there an option to bypass this?

This has been discussed a lot HERE but I won't lock this thread because I think it deserves further discussion. If the Mogul is plugged in to charge the Mogul will not wake up for alarms. When unplugged it has had problems for some people. I use my Mogul as my alarm clock so I need it to go of. I have been using GSAlarm for the past 3 mornings with the Mogul unplugged and it has worked every time. I have to charge the battery before I go to bed than set GSAlarm that is what I am doing for now but we need a better fix for this.

Alarms set in Pocket INformant work when the phone is off and plugged in... but not the stock alarms... so it is a system issue.

Alarms

I've been seeing a lot of discussion on this alarm problem. I have used my alarm for a week now. I've tried it with the phone on the charger overnight, off the charger, in sleep mode, not in sleep mode. My alarm goes off every time without fail. I figure it's 1 of 2 things.
1) I got a phone that just works like it is supposed to (unlikely)
or
2) it's somehow related to software that's been installed. Being new to the whole ppc thing I have yet to put any software on mine. I have been trying to learn the ins & outs of the system without adding new toys yet. So maybe everyone with the alarm issue should list what they have installed and we can figure out if something there is the culprit?
Just my two cents

Fireguy... I think that's a very good idea. (Listing the programs) A lot of users...um.....use a lot of the same apps, so you're probably right.

Likewise. Was skipping alarms the first couple days I had it, but works now. Wish I could remember the trigger for the "fix". PhoneAlarm (been trialing that)?

I've had this problem post hard reset, and has never worked from the factory. It came with the most current ROM. Has everyone having this problem had theirs shipped with the most current rom?

I noticed this thread died on the 5th, am I still missing the fix somewhere?
