Help PLEASE!! Hard button issues!!!
i installed vito buttonmapper and it was causing some issues so i went to uninstall and it said it needed to soft reset, so i did. when it booted back up, none of the assignable hard buttons did anything except for the messaging button that opens windows live messenger. i dont know why it does that, as i never had it set to that and all the buttons are assigned to what they should be in settings > buttons
any other hard button press comes up and says "the file 'buttons' cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. if the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring the software". so now what? i uninstalled a third part app and it uninstalled the hard button software!!! what can i do? thanks __________________ |
Okay, in the registry go into:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shell/Keys There should be 6 Keys: 40C1 - 40C7 The "Default" and "Reset" values are: for 40C1 Default="\Windows\AppButtons\Message.lnk" for 40C2 Default="\Windows\AppButtons\Internet Explorer.lnk" for 40C3 Default="\Windows\AppButtons\Comm Manager.lnk" for 40C4 Default="\Windows\AppButtons\Camera.lnk" for 40C6 Default="\Windows\AppButtons\Record.lnk" -b for 40C7 Default="\Windows\AppButtons\Voice Speed Dial.lnk" At least that's how it is in my registry. And in the folder "Windows\AppButtons" There are 9 shortcuts: Calendar Camera Comm Manager Contacts Internet Explorer Messaging Record Tasks Voice Speed Dial Hope this helps. |
