Music Store Songs as Ringers

I haven't installed the update yet on my phone. But I was wondering if it was possible to make the songs you get from the music store ringers? I know I can make MP3's ringers but not sure what the file or encryption is on the music files. I remember a while back when you bought a song you got a phone version as well as a PC version of the song.

nope the songs from the music store are protected, but if you can DL the song to your PC you can sync the rights over to your PPC and that may work to set it as a ringer

I have been trying to download the MP3s that I purchased from the Sprint Music Store. The lower quality version downloads fine and I’m able to play the song on the Sprint Music Java app. The Music app instructs you to go to http://www.sprint.com/DigitalLounge to download the higher quality MP3. After logging on, the phone that shows is a 6800 (which is correct). Now the problem part… There is no link for the music store, just links for WM6 applications. I called Sprint tech support, and the rep said he was surprised that I had even downloaded the lower quality version into my phone, and that the Music Store is not supposed to work in the Mogul. Has any one successfully downloaded an MP3 from the Digital Lounge that has a Mogul? Is there a work-around? Thanks.

i've downloaded songs from the music store successfully. you just have to update the program on your 6800

He's asking about downloading from the Sprint website after you've downloaded from the music store on your phone. I'm having the same problem. Will contact Sprint eCare to find out more.

oh ok. i get what he saying now. yea i havent found a way to work around that part yet, but as soon as the digital lounge website gets updated for it to work on the mogul then thats the only way

I have emailed Sprint about this, and they seem to be unaware of the problem. They sent me back a generic response "Click the link next to the song you want to download..." So I have written a more detailed email back to them stating the problems we are having. My guess is that since the Mogul was released with no Music Store support the website was not made to have music as part of the content. The recent ROM update has enabled the Music Store, but it seems that Sprint dropped the ball on their part and have not yet enabled this feature on the website. I said as much in my email, so I hope to hear a posisitve response. Will update when I do.
