Today screen question

I know this has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find the answer...

When going off of sleep mode, how can I get my 6800 to not default back to the Today screen? For instance, if I have email running, and then it goes into sleep mode (either due to my settings, or because I pressed the power button), I want email to be the first thing I see when I take it out of sleep mode.

Thanks!

I just tested this out on my phone by opening up e-mail, then pressing the power button to put it to sleep. When I turned it back on, e-mail was still on the screen. What programs do you have installed?

go to settings/today then click on items, at the bottom you will see "today timeout" uncheck that and there ya go, it will stay where you leave it.

Cicatrize: I don't have that much installed... just the following:

Google maps
iLauncher
PHM Reg Editor
Jimm98y's dialer
HTC X-Button

soaknfused: that didn't do it. Though the program is still running in the background, I'm still taken to the Today screen when coming out of sleep mode.

I've never used iLauncher, but that might have something to do with it. I don't know what Jimm98y's dialer is, never seen it, and I've never had a problem with the others. Try taking the iLauncher check off of the today plugins to see if that helps.

I've been having this issue since day 1... before I installed anything... so I know iLauncher isn't the issue. Thanks, though

Oh, wow. That's really strange then. Go ask for a replacement.

Ha! Not likely If that's the only problem I'm having, I can definitely live with that.

Soft reset after performing what soaknconfused posted. If that box is checked after you soft reset, then you might need to had reset the device.

I did a soft reset, but it's still acting the same. Again, this has been happening since I've taken the phone out of the box (1+ weeks ago). Since then, I've already hard reset twice (once sort of by mistake, the other to update the ROM). So, I don't think doing another hard reset will fix the prob.
