Blurry Photos xv6800

I searched this issue, but all I could find out is that people are not happy that HTC advertises a 2mp camera that takes such horrible pictures. Overall, I am happy with the camera, but very close pictures are blurry. I have tried different resolutions, different light levels and othe misc. settings with no success. Anyone know how I could possibly get close-up pics to turn-out more clear? Thanks.

close up pics on the Titan are pretty much impossible.

the titan has no auto focus or manual focus and therefore you cant take clear close-ups

Re: Blurry Photos xv6800

Well actually, all of the info that I have read on this issue says that the camera does have auto-focus, but I know what you mean. It's just discouraging that this phone can take some fantastic photos (from a distance) but nothing up close. That's a shame. Thanks for your reply.

Re: Blurry Photos xv6800

I have seen some custom ROMs w/ different Camera revisions that take better (sharper) pictures. Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade our camera version?

It depends on the minimum focal length of the lens itself. No software can change this as it is a hardware issue.

Looks like something that I (we) will have to live with. Thanks for the feedback. I would click the green THANKS button for all of you guys, but they are not showing up. Is that normal? I mean, do you NOT get to "Thank" people when it is your own thread?

Just to see if it is hardware or software related, try using CoolCamera

Re: Blurry Photos xv6800

From my little bit of photography skills, i can say that the mogul is missing a feature that was available on the 6700. The macro switch (used to be a little switch around the little lens of the 6700) which allowed you to be able to focus on close up objects.
I'm guessing some software update would be need to internally adjust for this mode since the Mogul was not featured with it.

I think you can only thank a maximum of 30 people a day. Maybe you met this limit. Make sure you are signed in also. Or maybe contact a moderator if you still have a problem.

Re: Blurry Photos xv6800

there is no hardware or software macro mode for the titan since its a fixed lens camera (no moving parts)

there is really no way to take clear close up pictures with it unless you add on an extra lens that allows you to focus on close objects. and even that would take a lot of time and patience to figure out the right lens to use and the correct distance from the camera to place the lens.

software can make pictures sharper but its very limited.
best method is to use an external image editing program like Adobe Photoshop and various plugins that can make the pictures sharper without losing much quality.
