Mogul wifi chip dead?

This is very weird and a killer for me

The wifi on my mogul works like 20% of the time. I do not know what happened, I have done clear storage, a rom reinstall

the wifi would connect to my network and work for a bit and then it would drop the connection and not find any wifi networks, when I know for sure my home wifi is available

i am very close to buying a touch pro because of this

Re: Mogul wifi chip dead?

Yeah, I would say that is a hardware issue. I like the TP because there is no WiFi hardware switch, which I always turned on by accident.

Re: Mogul wifi chip dead?

Try a different ROM. May be a switch issue. But no real fix for it.

are there any roms I could use

I have the stock 6.1 that was released in August installed and am not sure what else is compatible

I dont think the "physical switch" is an issue, cause it shows unavilable then if i switch it over it says "off"

the wifi connects and I can use it sometimes but when it cannot it shows unavilable

Re: Mogul wifi chip dead?

I have always had good luck with DCD's ROMs.

Do you have the same problem with other WiFi networks?

Re: Mogul wifi chip dead?

Sounds like the wifi radio has bit the dust. This happens sometimes. What is the signal strength at home? Should be fairly strong in the same room as the router.

Re: Mogul wifi chip dead?

I had the same problem with my Mogul. I have TEP so I had it replaced. I found that wifi worked if I turned the phone off and stuck it in the refrigerator for a while. It was defiantly heat related.
