phoneon.wav SOUND
How do I get rid of this file so that it does not make this sound when starting up. I am not able to delete it because it is read-only and I can't seem to take it out of this state to delete it. Any suggestions??

You should be able to overwrite it with another file of the same name. Just create or find a small .wav file and name it phoneon.wav. Then copy to \Windows.
Edit: I looked and found this reg entry. I assume that you could change the Enabled to 0. If not, change the file names. Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA\FlightModeOnOFF] |
Re: phoneon.wav SOUND
If anyone can help, i always get that phoneon and phoneoff are protected files and i cannot overwrite or delete them. i did the regedit, but i would rather just be able to leave it at phoneon.wav

Re: phoneon.wav SOUND
Did you try making a new wave sound, rename it and drop it in the windows folder like the person above selected.

Re: phoneon.wav SOUND
yes i did. that's when it tells me that the file is protected and i cannot overwrite it. if i just try to delete the files, it says i can't delete it and that the file is protected.

Re: phoneon.wav SOUND
Its possible to edit the file just depends on which file explore you use, I myself use resco explorer and was able to edit the file without a issue, also the reg edit will also resolve the issue you are having, Now you can change the sounds when the phone turns off and on in settings - sounds and notifications. Just add the wav or mp3 file you want to the windows folder and it will show in the list
