what does 'soft reset' mean?

I know a hard reset is when you bring your mogul back to its original state, but what does a soft reset do and how do i find the soft reset option in the phone?

thanks guys!

A soft reset is like doing a Restart on your PC. You will not lose any data and it is a great way to solve most problems that arise with the PPC. You can reset the Mogul by putting the stylus in the reset button hole on the bottom of the Mogul/Titan

You can also just hold the power button until it asks you if you want to shut it down.. then hit the power button to turn it back on again,, if you are not in an emergency situation...

Yeah - think of it as a Control Alt Delete - and, if you have anything open that you didn't yet save (ie, a word doc, message you were creating, etc), then you will lose THAT particular data. What was meant when D5 said you "will not lose any data" is that it's not like a "hard reset" which wipes the phone out to "new condition" like when you bring it home from the store - or, if you have a custom rom installed, it will revert back to the initial rom configuration.

I've found that to help with unexpected problems, soft reset with the stylus into that little button once a day...cuz this OS is far from perfect -no matter how well its been tweaked & modified by the various ROM folks...
