Phone slow during ActiveSync

After plugging the phone in to the computer and having ActiveSync run or while already plugged in and ActiveSync starts my phone runs really really slow.
Say I have the Start -> Programs screen open. I can kick off ActiveSync manually from the computer by right clicking the ActiveSync icon and clicking synchronize. When the sync starts (arrows are moving) if I try to close the Programs dialog or even open a new application I have seen it take anywhere from 3 - 10 seconds to respond.

The above scenario is forced, but I usually leave the phone plugged in while at my desk. If I want to do something, anything and sync happens to be running at that point there is always a long delay before the phone responds to what I want to do. As soon as the sync is completed everything moves along quite spryly.

Anyone?

Well this just happened to me.

Phone was connected to computer and activesync was running (seems to run a lot while connected).
The phone rang and the caller ID screen came up.
I unplugged the usb cable then clicked the Answer soft key.
Everything froze for about 15 seconds, no more ringing, not able to answer the phone, etc...
Then after about 15 seconds everything came back to life but obviously my caller went to voice mail by that time.

Has no one else seen anything like this?

Unfortunately this is pretty standard. It's all but unusable while syncing, and I have lost calls while syncing.

Same here - ActiveSync really brings things to a standstill. I even made sure to do the setting change to enable the advanced network functionality and it still is slow as can be.

Argh!
