6800 Not Ringing?!?!?!?!?!?!

My phone is not always ringing. I will go and look at the phone and see that I have a couple missed calls and it never rang. Is anyone else having this issue?

yes I am having the same problem. For example I got a call today at 11:15 amthat didn't even come to the phone. I got a voicemail notification at 1:10 pm. I have no idea why it is doing this but I have missed at least 5 calls since I got the phone on Friday

around the time you think you guys got the call, were you in like a deadzone? cause even my grilfreind, even with one bar of service she will get 9 out of 10 of my calls. This also happends a lot with my 6700 when i still have it on my side, or low service areas. You guys should try seeing that area you think you could have been and see were your phone stands service wise as i dont think that this is phone related seeing how it has happend to me many times.

Are you using PocketMusic? I downloaded the free version and found that if I set the program to associate .mp3 files (Player Options -> File Types), then my phone would only use the generic ring tone instead of any .mp3 files I had set to play instead. And for whatever reason, the generic tone was playing very quietly.

Sometimes it happens to me, the phone is turned on with ringer/vibrate and wont play my ringtone just vibrate. All I do is reboot the phone and its back to working normal. Not a big deal but just a pain in the ass cause sometimes i miss calls

That occured when I first got my phone, but that was when I just activated the phone. I resetted and my phone can receive calls. Also this happens when you're accessing internet under the 1X, and not EV.

Re: 6800 Not Ringing?!?!?!?!?!?!

I had this problem a few times also. It seemed to be linked to my ringer. I went into the phone app. to check the ringer and tried to "play" the ringer from there and got nothing but silence. Since then, I choose a standard (stock ringer that came with the phone) and all is well. I just assumed it was a problem with my custom (MP3) ringers that I was using. I have meant to troubleshoot and see it it actually was my ringers but have decided to use the stock ringer instead. Turns out the very annoying stock ringers are easy to hear and I miss far less calls. T

Hope that helps....

Ken

it COULD (but prolly isnt) someone going through thier voicemail to leave you a direct voice mail message... i use that alot to avoid people i dont want to talk with directly.. ahh voice mail what a time saver!
