Internet connection sharing question.

I have a mogul running the stock 6.1 firmware. I did the registry edit to enable the "Sprint PCS" connection. My question is do i still need a program like PDAnet? Or will sprint be unable to detect the usage?

Re: Internet connection sharing question.

He did the regedit to allow undetected WinMo ICS tethering by changing the PAM reg entry to Sprint PCS. This method requires NO additional software to tether.

So this is the correct way to hopefully use it to tether and not be detected?

Re: Internet connection sharing question.

You won't be detected unless you burn up 5 gig of traffic over the Mogul.

And I was inaccurate about no additional software required.. on XP machines, you need activesync 4.5 installed. Vista: you need mobile device manager. This ensures the PCs have the usb modem drivers.

For Linux.. honestly haven't found anything that works, so I just use WMWifiRouter. Ditto for Mac.
