Whats the autoconfigure when you first...

What does the autoconfigure ACTUALLY do when i reflash the phone and let it boot up for the first time?....."Autoconfigure in 3 seconds" WHAT???

should i let that do its thing? or do a soft reboot before it can do it? which one is better....

I believe this is when the customizations that are cooked in to the ROM run. Those Geeks w/ more experience here can offer more detail

It is called the extended rom. It includes all of the 'extras' from your cell phone company. On sprint moguls, it includes Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation, Audible, On Demand, Software Store... etc. It also installs the sprint backdrop, and adds some other network specific features. It only runs on the first boot after a hard reset, so you can avoid the customizations by doing a soft reset with the stylus as soon as it starts the countdown. Just about everyone on this forum skips the extended rom. Your phone is perfectly functional without it, and in many cases it performs much better.
