Verizon No Roaming

I just tried today to see if my phone would roam. I went into my setting and made it Roam Only with call guard off. (What is call guard anyways) After I did this I never got a signal and dots ran under the tower symbol. I have tried to update my prl by dialing *228 and option 2. Did I do something wrong or do I need to change a setting? I tried searching for answer but couldn't find the same problem really.

Another note. After I select Roam Only and later so a soft reset. When the phone comes back up it is in Home Only. It changes my options

no other carrier towers near??? Also, Call gaurd is exactly that, if you try to make a call while roaming it will pop up a screen that you have to accept or press one to continue. One, it helped notify customers of knowing when they were roaming because you used to get billed for it once upon a time ago. They have a Data Guard also for the same reason

Well why does the phone restart in home only. I leave in a city where i am pretty sure Sprint has good coverage. I have tried roaming in a couple different areas with no luck.

Anyone have any ideas. Should I reinstall the DCD carrier cab?

Can Verizon block roaming on my line?

Re: Verizon No Roaming

Do you live in a large metropolitan area? If you live in a small town or in the middle of nowhere, it is entrely possible that there are only Verizon towers around and all of the other CDMA networks roam off of them. Therefore, if you told your phone to roam, there are no other options available.

I live in a city of about 100,000 people. Also according to the Sprint coverage map. http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?language=EN There is sprint service here that isn't sprint roaming.
