-Titan is the code name HTC used for it while in development which covers all versions, regardless of the name they have been released as.

-P4000 is the name HTC has given it for public release. (it could be just Telus' but I've been lead to believe otherwise.)

-Mogul is the name that Spring have given it

-6800 is the name that UTStarcom gave it, which may still show up here and there in Sprint literature.

Funny on the box it has Mogul and 6800. Guess they figured they would cover all their bases.

i have a p4000... it's my first pda/ ppc. being new to this whole affair, it took me hours of online research to understand which names are pertain to this device, and to separate many other names that are similar htc products, but *not* this device.

just for fun, i'll add to list.

i've also seen sprint refer to it as the Sprint Audiovox PPC-6800.

and i understand that verizon will be calling it the Verizon XV6800.

i'm also pretty sure that i saw some adverts from htc *themselves* calling it the mogul (and the pictures did not have any carrier-specific branding on the casing).

and i've also seen people getting scolded in forums for asking about the titan, and being told that there is no such a device... confusion created, of course, because of the similarly named HTC TyTn.

Titan's most logical, as that's the name it's had for quite some time. Sprint branded it the Mogul, but that's not its name as far as HTC is concerned, and that won't be its name on other providers. And PPC-6800 is the technical name from Sprint, but again, it's a Sprint name.

Besides, any of us who've been following this for a while know/knew it as the Titan, so it's not exactly confusing.

I called a local Sprint store trying to find out when they would have the Mogul and the guy had no idea what the Mogul was but knew they would be getting the 6800 very soon. and was very informed as to what the 6800 was. I then told him that the 6800 WAS the Mogul. Refered him to Sprints web site to see.. He was very surprised. Just thought it was kind of amusing

I would vote to keep titan and then just add the sub names as the companys

come out with them, or you could make sub cats with the respective names

that way say im alltel i need to know things that work on my phone not ones

that work on sprint phones..
