TxtMan threaded SMS app - without all the Palm fuss

I've been playing with the TxtMan threaded SMS app for the last hour or so, and so far I love it. Based on screenshots of the Palm app I've seen, this one isn't quite as "pretty," but it's extremely functional and much, much, much snappier than the one built into the Mogul.

Has anyone else used it? Can anyone give me any reasons why it's worth the trouble to track down the Palm app over using this little gem?

TxtMan needs CF2.0, doesn't it? It also needs to be running all of the time or it won't get the texts. That's a big problem for me.

could someone post a link to this app and some screen shots?

heres a cut and paste of the instructions from the homepage

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Textr Installation Instructions

1. Download Textr here

2. If you have never installed Textr, skip to 6, if you're upgrading continue to 3.

3. Uninstall TextrSetup from your PC, if you used the integrated installer TextrSetupFull.msi. Ignore this step if you used Textr.cab.

4. Uninstall the following from your PPC if found:-
1. Go start > Settings > Remove Programs
2. Remove Textr if found.
3. Remove Microsoft SQL Mobile 2005 if found.
4. Remove Microsft .NET 2.0 if found.

5. Soft Reset your PPC (Restart).

6. Sync your PPC to your PC.

7. Run TextrSetupFull.exe from your PC
8. When you get popup dialog boxes during the installation, wait for each installer to finish before you click the next. Microsoft SQL Mobile 2005 does not install properly if .NET 2.0 is not installed first on the PPC.
1. .NET 2.0 SP2
2. Microsoft SQL Mobile 2005
3. Textr 1.0.2

9. Check your device, if it is not plugged in, plug it in now. If no dialog boxes appeared on your phone, unplug it and replug it in. Follow all the dialog boxes till everything is installed.

10. Locate Textr in your programs folder, run it and follow the instructions.

Textr looks identical to the Palm app except that it uses photos from your contacts and costs $15. It also has a number of small bugs like not being able to send a text to anyone who isn't already in your contacts list.

I believe you can reply fine, But there is no way to enter in a phone number, you have to pick a contact. Which isnt that big of a deal to me. But $15 more that the palm app, and all it really does is add photos that are to small to see.

well the reports are that the palmthreaded is working just fine on wm6 so unless this company can make the program work AT LEAST AS GOOD, then your right in there being no reason to pay 15 bux for it.
