Increase speed of ad hoc network on mogul

I have a unique situation here and I was hoping one of you had a solution. I am currently using my Mogul to setup my home network though wmwifirouter. I have a 1 TB NAS (network attached storage) on the network. The speed that I am getting through this type of connection is only 11mbps which makes big file transfers tedious. Is there a registry hack or a setting I am missing to take the ad hoc network to 54mbps? Am I limited by the hardware?

Thanks for reading.

Re: Increase speed of ad hoc network on mogul

Being I also has a 1Tb NAS drive I feel you. However, the router does decide which mode to go in when it is set to a mixed mode. My only question is how do you know it is going in B and not G mode? Are you looking at your speeds and assuming that or are you seeing it another way. If you have 2 laptops wireless and a Xbox 360 wireless all on G and then a another older laptop on B, everything will be on B no matter if the others are set for G or not. So do yuo have anything else in the house on B? If not then take your router out of mixed mode and go to only G and see what you get. However, you will not get 54 or anywhere near it due to, you guessed it, hardware limitations.

Re: Increase speed of ad hoc network on mogul

Thanks for the response. Actually, I was fooling myself. My work PC only has a B card. My home PC has a G card and the network is setting up as 54mbps. So there really no issue just my ignorance on this one.
