Picture Mail Spam????
 

This may be the wrong section, but since it is happening on my Mogul, I'll start here.

So - the other day, I had to reset my Pic Mail password for some reason. I don't remember why. After that, I got a text saying an unknown sender sent me pic mail. I opened it and it was a text email... SPAM... wanting me to buy viagra!

Since then, i have received over 150 of these. I called sprint and the clueless rep said they had to change my phone number to get it to stop. Upon further inspection, hey were all addressed to my alias - d***7@pm.sprintpcs.com, not the usual ###-###-####@pm.sprintpcs.com.

I asked if they could just change the alias on my account and the lady said no and hung up.

Has anybody else experienced anything like this?

I was getting text messages from email adresess. I called Verizo and they said just to go online and use the tool to block certain people. So, you may wanna see if Sprint has something close.

yeah tried that, but as ou know, spam comes from 100's of different addresses... i think i'm hosed!

You know what worked for me, change my number for 3 days. Then change it back... call Sprint and see what they can do.

I would say to remove your e-mail address from that post unless you want more spam.

Thanks for the tip. It doesn't really matter now, I'm getting 25 a day. I'm going to keep calling sprint until I get someone smart enough to figure out how to change the email address without changing my phone number...

Magicall worked for me. I would get a dozen a day or more sometimes. Back to back to back. Magicall just filters SMS's from an unknown addy for me.

I was going to reccomend that very same type or program but couldn't remember what it was called.

The best thing to do would be to call sprint and change ur NAI (username@sprintpcs.com) and then tell them not to "reprovision" your pic mail code but to completely take off your data packages (all of em) and add new ones
