alltel ppc 6800 freezing

so i had just done and exchange by mail because my old ppc would freeze at random and not start back up for a long time. now my new phone is doing it before i even uploaded any contacts or media or anything. it will just freeze and then wont reboot for a while without messing around with removing the battery and pressing the power button and pressing the reset button alternately.

What ROM are you running?

I've heard of Alltel PPC 6800s freezing up but it sounds more like a software issue than it would as a hardware issue. Something or some program seems to have a bug or lacks compatibility.

I had the same problem this weekend, on the Alltel 6.1 ROM, I thought it may be HTC home, however I continued to have the problems after multiple hard resets. So I now have another XBM coming in, maybe they have a problem with their flashing tools, I may try to repeat the firmware upgrade to see if that makes a difference.

Not sure why you're having problems. I'm assuming that you're soft reseting the phone daily. I've been running 6.1 since 1Q this year, and have had 0 issues that weren't my fault.

Reinstalling the ROM may fix it, but there may be an issue related to defective equipment, that's causing the software to hang. If the reinstall doesn't work, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Re: alltel ppc 6800 freezing

Just finished a reload of the firmware, seems to be working fine now... no freezing or need for Hard Reset, and have been able to reload all of my programs, my guess is they have some kind of problem with whatever method they were using to load the firmware at the distribution center.
