sprint/asurion upgrading 6800s to 6900

for anyone who cares, sprint/asurion as of this morning was backordered on replacement 6800s. my 6800 died, and they offered me a 6900 in it's place. they did say that more 6800s were expected in a couple of weeks, so this dealio might not last too long.

Re: sprint/asurion upgrading 6800s to 6900

I feel a 6900 is a downgrade from the 6800. You only gain 64mb of ram but you loose much more. You loose the flash, the hardware keyboard, the wifi and the stock bigger battery. The 6900 may be faster and run more programs then the mogul bc of the lack of ram, however with the right rom and selections in the kitchen the 6800 is still a great phone with more to offer then the 6900.

Lets not forget that the touch is a cheaper device then the mogul so them upgrading you with a cheaper device then what you paid for your mogul is also degrading. I can see this being cool if it were similar priced and features as the mogul just minus the hardware keyboard such as the touch diamond.

Just my opinion and outlook on this topic and I don't want to get flammed for this post.

Don't worry Gator, I agree. If you're a true Mogul fan you won't be happy with anything less. That's like them offering to trade you a PDA for your laptop.

Re: sprint/asurion upgrading 6800s to 6900

i just received my 6900, which was broken as well! i just called asurion, got annoyed with them, spoke to a supervisor, and now she's sending me a touch diamond! i don't text very much, so let's see if i can live without the keyboard. if not, maybe i'll call and complain and demand another mogul.

I'm about to call in for a claim on my Mogul - the wi-fi hardware switch is dead. NO WAY do I want anything without a keyboard.
If they offered a TP, I would settle for that. Otherwise, gimme a Mogul or no deal.

Haha, I almost lost my baby last night. Using the phone over the toilet and bam there it went. I knocked it into the dry bath tub though. Lol. No nicks or anything though.

Re: sprint/asurion upgrading 6800s to 6900

I remember dropping a VX 6000 in the bath tub a few years back. Pulled the battery, let it dry for 24 hours and it came right on.

Re: sprint/asurion upgrading 6800s to 6900

I had a support call where someone put their phone on the back seat of the toilet and someone sent them a text. too bad the phone was on vibrate. zzzzzz right off the edge into the bowl.
