OH no!!!! Warranty replacement

Last night, one of the springs broke on the slide out keyboard of my XV6800. The sliding is loose and sometimes gets hung up on the broken pieces. A visit to my local VZW store today revealed that the phone wil not be fixed, but will be replaced under warranty. Now I have to start all over after all the customizations and installed programs... What happened to the days when a simple phone problem was fixed on site? This spring can't be a big job to fix...

In all my reading, I don't remember anyone mentioning broken springs on this phone. Anyone heard of this happening?

That is a shame. But why not just use SPB Backup to make a clone image then get a refurb/new phone? Since you use MR1 you can have them flash it their if the phone is still on stock WM6...

I do have SPB Backup, and have used it for contacts and PIM stuff, but I didn't realize it could make an image of everything. Thanks for the tip... It's running now.

Yeah it works great if you have the same ROM you're gonna restore on. They did the best job they could on restoring in Device Upgrade and ROM Upgrade but it aint too too good. I tried when I was experimenting different ROMS, but it always is better to realod everything if changeing phones or ROMS. In your case it will work perfect. You won't know there is a difference.
