verizon txt message slow

when I txt on my xv6800 I can type in an entire sentence or more before it displays. I use my sms in conversation mode. It does this no matter how much stuff is running in the backround. my unit is stock (mr1 version) except for software to make it use the gps on google maps. Any ideas?

turn off word prediction, correction and clear out your messages. that helps me. search too this topic has been discussed hundreds of times.

I am closing all running apps with the drop down task manager. The slowness of the txt entry doesn't seem to be network related.

its not, its the device and what's all on it. Again, turn of word suggestion and correction, and clear out your messages. That speeds mine up dramatically. I still have correction on and I can deal with the little delay I have.
