Qwest Switching to Verizon

My wife and I want to keep our HTC Titan phones, we are currently under Qwest, can we flash our phones to work with the Verizon service or do we need to find new phones? Please remember I am very new with type of information and learning.

yes, you can still use your phones but you will have to flash them over to vzn and have there ESN added to verizons DMD. it takes some work but is worth it. unless you want to just sell your phones and buy ones already setup for vzn.

this link is the best place to start.

i followed that to the letter and was up and running in no time. i did get stuck in bootloader but it was because of a step i missed. getting the ESN added will take longer than flashing the phone. you will need to download the PPC kitchen or use DCD's rom. its easy once you start.

Re: Qwest Switching to Verizon

the key is making sure VZw will add the phones to the service.

rowdyr, there is a number on the other thread about this switch. Call them and talk about windows mobile and that your siwtching and they should be able to give you verizon's titan. The only thing I don't know is that if it is new or not. You would have to ask them (or someone who has done so). I'm waiting till the last min. too. I just got a little borchere thing in the mail and they said if you signed with a two year contract, which I'll most likley do, they will give you a enV2 or blackberry (older one) for free. (Keep in mind they say that the $500 mogul is equal to enV2 and bb) So if you switch, you could get one of those. What am I getting at? You can either keep your phones and switch the radios, sign with a two year contract and get 1 free enV2 or bb, or sign with 1/2 year contract (I don't think it would matter) and swap for equal value phones. (2 new Verizon Titans).

Just wondering, does anyone have any more ideas on this?

You know what, ill probably be doing the new titan plan, but ill be selling it for a down payment for the latest and greatest.

Last thing, if you do call [1-800-525-6343] please inform me how it went?
