HTC P4000 OK Button Mapping

I got my P4000 from TELUS about a month ago and I love it... except for the darn OK button that does NOT close apps.

I do us an alternate task manager (iLauncher 3.0) when I tap on the screen. Works fine, but I would like the apps to truly close when I press on the hardware OK button.

I was able to do this on my UTStarcom PPC 6700, but this feature has been disabled in the Button Setting screen on the HTC P4000 (aka Titan).

Has anyone found the registry hack to do this?

Tks

Have you tried Smartskey? On the 6700 it will map the press and hold of the right softkey to close apps. This isnt the OK button, but it is close.

Also, in iLancher, there is a Close/Ok button option that will do as you would like it to do. Map that .exe file to your OK button and it will close the apps in lieu of just minimizing them.

What he means is that the ok button cannot be remapped. Weird, but true.

What I have done is use Close All to close apps when I hit the X, then if I only want to minimize I just hit the ok button. Kind of turned a disadvantage into an advantage.

I just use SPB PocketPlus. Everything works just fine.

Paragon, so the p4000 actually closes apps when X is tapped or did you add an app?

No, I installed an app that actual works. ;)

@jamesus,

Yeah it does suck a bit. There are five buttons on the phone that you can reprogram, but the ok and start buttons on the face can't be....It's a conspiracy I tell you, a conspiracy! They don't want us installing an X that actually works. ;)

We just can't win, huh? And I am starting to believe the conspiracy theory!

LOL

The thing is, when I did the review on the P4000/6800 I tried to crash it by running as many apps as I could. I had it running Audible reading a book, WMP playing music, PIE downloading webpages and a slue of other apps and I couldn't crash it. It very quickly adjusted RAM needs as downloads ended or other processor functions restarted. I couldn't get it to go below 3.5Mb of RAM.....could the conspiracy be vaild? :dontknow:
