New 6800

Just got my 6800, and I have a quick question.

Should I unlock and install a new ROM before or after I activate it with Verizon?

Sorry if it's a dumb question.

After you activate is better for most.

+1 that way if there are any problems, you still have all the stock info and they can trouble shoot it and get you activated.

I flashed mine before activating. All I did was flash the rom I wanted than dialed *228 and pressed option 3 to activate another device. You don't even need to talk to anybody. worked for me maybe it'll work for you.
