Restore Defaults

I'm sure this question has been answered before, but I looked a bit and couldn't find a straight forward answer.

From what I understand to bring a phone into a repair center to be examined, or to make an insurance claim, it should be in it's original format, i.e no bootloader or custom rom.

How do I remove these? And is it completely necessary, or will they just attribute the problems to these things?

i hard reset when taking or sending phone to sprint and there keeping it. if there just fixing problem and giving phone back to you i think your ok with just a theme. if you do hard reset make sure you back up your info. edit, good backup app., http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/backup/ hard reset will rmove everything. box stock phone. goodluck

Not exactly, If you have flashed a different boot loader, radio, and rom when you hard reset they all stay there. If you want to go back to stock you have to re-flash a stock rom, radio and boot. I've hard reset several times on my 6800 and olipro, sprint radio 3.35, and dcd 3.2.6 are still there. It will remove everything you've installed, your contacts, email ect ect. hence the back-up. If I'm takin it in, I don't bother, but if I was sending it back on an insurance claim I'd go back to stock. But i believe that's only if your device is still under warranty.
