WiFi Won't work anymore

Whenever I try to switch on my WiFi, the antenna appears in the top but there is no more activity. I Have tried the following: (and yes...I used the switch on the side of the phone)

1.)Updated the Rom...nothing
2.)Checked the settings...nothing
3.)Used WiFiFoFum to see if that would work...nothing
4.)Used spbphone to see if I can manually turn it on...nada

Is there any other suggestions, or should I call sprint for a replacement?

so it still doesn't work after a hard reset? you could try (re)flashing just the radio.
when did this start happening?

You should try one of no2chem's roms that has the nue hardware switch in it. Or cook your own rom with that oem. You then will be able to see if its hardware related or your switch being broken as you can leave the switch to off and still turn on the wifi with the com manager or 3rd pary app.

tried it...nothing happened. All I still get is the WiFi antenna on the screen, but no activity.

This started happening a couple weeks ago.

Same thing was happening to me. Apparently it is the Wi-Fi chip coming loose inside and losing connection. You may also experience a problem where the WiFi will start working all of a sudden then shut off after a bit. I had to get a replacement phone because of this.

Hope that helps. :violent2:

the best way to tell for sure if it's a chip issue is to put it in front of A/C. if it works when cold but not when warm it's definitely h/w.
otherwise it could still be a software glitch. I have caught some rom flash's not overwriting the wifi drivers (or whatever) and it caused issues, but I've only seen it a few times with some experimental stuff.
