FYI the 6800 (DBA P4000) is already released in Canada...

on Telus

A user at pdaphonehome (Paragon) has already received a production device and has posted pics and is answering questions over there. I don't intend to move discussion away from here by any means, but just wanted to let interested people know that there's some more info available.

Here is the Telus page about it:

http://www.telusmobility.com/on/pcs/...tc_p4000.shtml

And a link to the PDF Users Manual:

http://www.telusmobility.com/content.../htc_p4000.pdf

It remains to be seen what differences will be seen between the different carrier implementations of this device. Judging by the pics we've seen the hardware and physical design appears to be the same (dark grey plastic) between Sprint and Telus.

This is my second PPC phone. My first was the 6700. So far, it seems to boot slower than the 6700, call quality over my Jabra BT620s is lower (quieter and the volume seems to fluctuate). I haven't had a chance to test the stereo bluetooth fully yet, but from the little bit i have tested, it is better, ie; no skipping like on the 6700.

A2DP has been tested. it works well with no skipping, although i find the audio quality not as good but it is definitely louder.

Does the phone use Windows 5.0 or 6.0? Also, how's the performance compared to the 6700?

WM5 AKU 3.3 from what I have read, I may have the wrong AKU, but it uses WM5 for sure.

it's WM5 and thus far the overall performance is about the same if not slower than the 6700. Once we can figure out how to do a ROM dump we can start tweaking it to unlock the added performance. the extra storage memory is nice though.

Oh my dear god... Even that tiny picture on their site is so damn tempting!

For a lack of better words on this one...
