Disabling notifications - I will pay for a working solution!

Here's my problem: when I receive an email or SMS my phone vibrates, the orange light flashes, and I get a "notification" popup message and the left softkey on the today screen turns into "Notification". My desired behavior is that when I receive a message, the phone will vibrate, and the orange light will flash only. I don't want to have to dismiss each message.

I have already tried using spb phone, phone alarm, searching the registry and of course the notification settings. I cannot get the left softkey change to go away!

If anyone can provide a working solution, I will pay $10 to your paypal.

Stock rom 2.17 with 1.40 radio. When you say fix yours, please confirm that when you recieve an email, your phone does vibrate, the light flashes and there is no "notification" on the left softkey on the today screen, as well as no popup message.

I think this is a known problem with Windows Mobile in general. Email alerts have NEVER respected the notification settings. It's pissed me off from day 1 and is the reason why I refuse to use Pocket Outlook for email. I either use webmail or the GMail java client. I really don't want any notifications when I receive email. If I want to know if I have mail I check it.

Send a message via AIM to jamesus Send a message via Yahoo to jamesus
As a last resort, have you tried hard resetting and playing with the notifications before installing any third party programs?
