Email issue: I can receive but not send email WM 6.0
 

I had it working before on my Alltel 6800, but I had to hard reset yesterday.

I can receive email, but cannot send. My IT gut gave me the server settings: It is the same address for incoming and outgoing.

I have no idea why it does not work anymore. POP3

Any ideas?

if its using wifi and u have dsl u need to authenticate with the dsl username and pass. for example, lets say i have att dsl, and a pop email domain ppcgeeks.com. my incomming mail is user@ppcgeeks.com, pop.ppcgeeks.com. my outgoing would be user@att.com, smtp.att.yahoo.com.

test it out using your cellular data connection.

also, i have found that if you copy and paste settings in mail setup it wont work. you need to type each setting in one letter at a time. no copy and paste in email setup.

Another route you can take is to set up a gmail account and use it as the outgoing server. Im not sure if that will work for Alltell or not. Seems to work fine on Sprint.
