Re: hard reset

It is pretty much the same thing as a ROM update, but without the update part, and does not require a computer, just pressing the two soft keys, and the reset button.

Back up your contacts with Outlook on your computer, or just do a PIM backup.

Good luck getting your phone to work right again.
And next time don't make any changes without knowing what it does.

Re: hard reset

A hard reset sets your phone back to it's factory settings. In other words, after a hard reset, your phone is in the same condition it was when you first took it out of the box. A hard reset does not affect your phone number. It WILL erase all 3rd party programs, contacts, etc, so make sure these are all backed up.

Re: hard reset

That'll work for your contacts. If you want to backup your entire system, check into a backup app. My favorite is SPB Backup
