How to erase all data / user information

I just sold my 6800 and need to erase all of the data / user information on it. Can someone please tell me how I go about doing that?

Thanks!

Hard reset.....simultaneously hold down both soft keys(the keys at the bottom of phone with the dots on them) and the soft reset button.....a white screen with blue text will come up....just follow the on-screen prompts....

One question. After a hard reset, I am still able to see my Cell number and account information on the phone. Is that due to the ESN being registered with my account. If the ESN is removed from the account, does that information go away after a hard reset ?

Re: How to erase all data / user information

You cannot delete or remove the data in EPST so yes you will still see the phone number, this info is hardcoded into the device through its programming. When the new user has the device programmed it will overwrite your info with thiers.

ok i have a wierd question.. my right soft key is broke, when i try to press it nothing happens, i need to hard reset my phone, but since that key is broke it just soft resets. does anyone know how to hard reset without having to do the key press.. ie is there a specific program that controls that, or anything else, that might work?

thanks in advance

Why couldn't the OP go into EPST and overwrite the data, such as MSID, MDN and NAI, with all zeroes or some other non-identifying data?

Re: How to erase all data / user information

You likely could but here is what you have to understand. That is hard coded info and carrier specific. If the OP did that and then gave it to you and you tried to do OTA programming or even activation and it didnt work (because nothing points to the carrier) then you would be upset. Most people dont know about EPST or even how to access it. Even if someone did, the only thing they are going to get is your number. Nothing else can be identified back to you.
