How to turn off notification & keep alarm?

I get a zillion notifications for email/message/missed calls/vm to the point it is interfere with use of the phone. When I turn off notifications, it also turns off the alarm which i use. Is there anyway to get rid of notifications w/o losing the alarm?

yes in settings> personal> sounds & notifications> notifications select the one you want to change e.g. new text check play sound and select your sound deselect display message on screen and the others are up to you.

Re: How to turn off notification & keep alarm?

im not talking about any sound. A pop up box appears for every notification and then I have to hit dismiss before i do anything else. How do I keep these pops ups from appearing not talking about the sound.
