Question i think i fried my wifi chip....

hi all. i just got home and was going to tether via wmwifirouter with the laptop... when i launched said program it prompted me that it could not locate my wifi card so i hit check again numerous times to no avail, and yes ik checked to make sure my switch was on, so i tried to connect the wifi manually via settings/connections/wifi menu turn on wifi. still a no go. tried soft reseting and repeated the other steps 4 times. any ideas? it might be fried... but it worked fine last night and shoot this afternoon before work even. anyways you think they will swap me out because of a fried wifi chip?

Re: i think i fried my wifi chip....

what rom is on it?

could be a broken wi-fi switch, unless you have a newer rom with the nueWi-fi driver, there is NO way to turn it on without flipping the switch.

Re: i think i fried my wifi chip....

nope the switch wasnt busted, and my chip isnt fried, i just did a hard reset... it works now strange, btw i am on the stock 6.1 official sprint rom. anyways i installed wmwifirouter first so i could come and fix this thread. now i gotta go reinstall all my stuff. lol. probably good to do a memory wipe anyways its been about a month. o and fyi you can turn on your wifi manually by following the path in my forst post, settings/connections/wifi then menu (bottom right) and then in that menu is a selection called "turn on wifi" which toggles your wifi radio.
