HELP: I need to restore my TEXT MESSAGES

Hello,

I just bought a new mogul to replace my old mogul. How do I transfer my text messages? I tried PIMbackup (only syncs sent msgs) and SBP backup but they are not working. I have the palm messaging app on my phone .

PLEASE HELP

Are you sure about PIMBackup only doing sent msgs because I was fairly sure it did all your msgs. I will have to look at mine and get back to you on it.

it does do both sent and rec text messages...

if you used Palm messaging app. the messages were stored in a file called palmmsgv001 or something like that stored in the windows directory before backup. If you did not backup that file you cannot restore the text message for palm threaded SMS

I selected inbox and sent under text messages to backup . When I try to restore only 21 msgs in the sent folder are restored. Nothing comes back for the inbox.

I backed up everything to the best of my knowledge......I will look for that file. thanks

You might want to set up a DashWire account for your new device. This will back up your texts, among other things.. While I realize it doesn't solve your current problem, it can keep it from happening again. Check www.dashwire.com

I agree, when I had my 67 and WM5 I used Palm and PIMB and it would always backup and restore all my msgs.

Just FYI if he is using the Palmthreaded it will not backup text messages on Dash...
