Active Sync Deleted All Contacts on Phone

So I think I already know the answer but I thought I would get some opinions before I break the news to one of my clients.

One of my clients got a new Mogul and connected it to his computer. He was using active sync 4.5 which he just downloaded and outlook connected to an exchange server. Sprint just transferred 400+ contacts from a Nextel phone to his Mogul and when he ran active sync it wiped all the contacts off the phone. He has no backup, the contacts are already wiped off the other phone and there is nothing on the sim from the Nextel phone. I told the client to check the deleted folder in outlook but since the contacts have never made into outlook I doubt there will be anything in there. Is the person SOL? I think so, what you think?

Cheers,

Mikee

I posted this for you on XDA also....I think he is SOL.....hey may be able to access the PIM volume but I am not sure it will help....I have never tried because I back up contacts in about 8 different ways.....even if he can access it, and there is anything there he would still have to enter them manually one by one.....but if I am wrong someone feel free to correct me....

Re: Active Sync Deleted All Contacts on Phone

If the contacts never made it into Outlook, not much can be done.

Thanks flyers I figured it... Oh well glad it was not I who did it! I always use pim backup first before connecting any windows mobile device to a computer. I actually myself don't ever active sync WMDC on desktops. I use all ota sync with exchange! =)
