I had thought that as well, but if you look at the distance he tested from, it's roughly 550 miles. It doesn't necessarily mean he's in Kansas (I guessed he was since he said he's from there), but I figured there would have to be a closer server from wherever he tested from.

In any case, I think I just disproved my original theory about distances and speeds. I ran a test from my work computer to the Chicago server and got lower speeds than my 2nd test which was using the Kansas City server.

Chicago always seems faster. The distance you should worry about is from you to the tower.
