External Coaxial Antenna

Does anyone know of any that will fit the 6800? I see alot of other adapters out there but the closest I got was for the 6700. Not sure if the connection is the same. I have terrible coverage in my house and can usually pull one bar outside. I'd like to attempt to run an antenna outside and see if I can at least get the one bar again so I can text.

Re: External Coaxial Antenna

You may want to look into a repeater, so you aren't tethered to a cable when you are at home.

Re: External Coaxial Antenna

You'll need the antenna, the amplifier, and the transmitter. I beleive they all come in the kit....

Re: External Coaxial Antenna

I would contact Gordon @ http://www.maximumsignal.net/
He is very helpful. I run a amp and external antenna on my truck then I have a antenna that sits on my desk top. Plugs into the rear antenna port.
A couple of weeks ago I was in Remote Montana and set up the amplifier and mag mount antenna on the camp table and establised a data link for a wifi experience on the laptop. Most things are possible with a amp and good antenna.

Re: External Coaxial Antenna

Edit: This was supposed to have a quote from both previous posters who talked about the Sprint airave. Not sure what happened. Anyways.......

This doesn't seem like that bad of a deal. If I understand correctly, the device cost $100. But after that, if you have an internet connection, you can have the cheapest plan available and have unlimited minutes and data. For $20, if you had a couple of kids or whatever, you could get the cheapest plan, share minutes with the other two phones, and again, as long as you had an internet connection, you do not use any of your data or phone minutes at all. Just depends on your situation I guess.

Re: External Coaxial Antenna

Here are some antennas that come with the connector to the 6800.

http://stores.ebay.com/CellGear-USA_...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

I'm a ham radio operator, and with all radios, you can do amazing things with signal by just changing the type of antenna and where the antenna is located.

If it were me, I'd try a 11-13dbi vertical antenna (there are a couple on the page in the link above.)

The antennas are around $40-$50 or less and are a good place to start since it's the least expensive route to achieve better signal strength.

You will be shackled by a coaxial cable to your phone, and depending on where you live, (apartment/house etc) placing the antenna in a good spot might be difficult since the higher the antenna and mounting it outdoors is usually is the optimum spot.

Even indoors, an antenna that is rated at 13dbi gain should work better then the internal one on the 6800/mogul/titan.
