Really starting to dislike this phone.....

I got my Mogul towards the beginning of the year, and loved it. Had a couple of quirks, mainly it would freeze up on me, but I dealt with it. I upgraded to 6.1, seemed a little more stable, wasn't freezing up on me as much. Now today.....for the last 4 hours its been pretty much locked up the entire time. I try soft reseting it, and it'll get to the 6.1 green screen, and just stay there. The couple times its fully turned on, Ill try to get to my messages, and it'll freeze or go extremely slow once I click my message box. Its really frigging annoying. Anyone else having troubles? Or know of an idea on how to fix it? If the Touch Pro is going to be like this I might just cancel my Sprint and stick with my N96 on my T-mo plan

Re: Really starting to dislike this phone.....

have you done a hard reset instead of soft? Make sure you backup your contacts with PIMbackup first onto your card. You will lose all your information and start out of the box, but you'll know if its hardware or software related.

Re: Really starting to dislike this phone.....

I can tell you what your problem is.. THE TEXTS still didnt beat my sis 30k a month but she didnt delete them causing the memory in her phone to be bloated with thousand of text messages causing the phone to freeze lock up and everything so she took it to rep and he hard reset her phone the phone is only meant to handle less than 500 texts at once.

Re: Really starting to dislike this phone.....

Hey Sub0:
You may want to look into re-installing all your applications manually instead of running spb back up since you upgraded to a different ROM,again I am not sure what SPB you have knowing that the new version supports upgrade to new ROM's . I did not do the upgrade, I am a ok on 3.35 for now....Mogul is ok,more RAM will help no doubt however managing it to minimize freezing, resets....and all the hassle is within reach.

Re: Really starting to dislike this phone.....

Well texts are gone. Still seem to be having trouble. I just noticed its showing no signal, I try tapping phone, nothing. Trying to get into my texts, wont let me. And I do have the latest SPB, when I used it after the ROM it asked what type of backup and the option was "new ROM"

Re: Really starting to dislike this phone.....

Restoring with SPB backup might give you some trouble. There are slight differences in the roms obviously so if SPB wrote something that makes no sense to the new rom on the phone it would get jammed up. Kinda like trying to stick a square block in a round hole.

Try a hard reset(like was previously stated) then install everything manually, then backup with SPB incase you hard reset that rom.
There also should be an option of how many texts to keep on file..not sure but there should be I never have the same rom to collect that many texts..

And official roms have alot of junk in them taking up space...

Try to flash to one of no2chem's roms. Since they are known and built for speed. His newest I believe is still nueRom 2.2 pre-8...I believe..

Thats what I am currently running and I have not soft reseted in 2 days and I have 18mb free right now..just checked...Almost no lag.

Re: Really starting to dislike this phone.....

When it comes to backup solutions, you can use dotfred's PIM backup. that's one of the best ones after you install a new ROM.
