Disable data without disabling voice?

I am going to canada and plan on using the canada roaming to make/receive calls. but i don't want to use the data roaming since it is very expensive.
Is there a way to disable the data and still be able to send/receive phone calls?

Re: Disable data without disabling voice?

I personally just deleted my data connection (I don't have a data plan).

You can do this under Settings>Connections>Connections

then under your Carrier, you can edit existing connections or something, then delete it.

Remember you will have to re-add it later then, so write down the info.

Or create a dummy connection with dialing rules so the cellular modem cannot connect. Then after your trip, delete the dummy connection.

That's what I'm doing in the UK (even with a pay as you go UK sim in my Tilt, data rates are not pretty - lots of wifi around, at least)
