ringtones for texts messages

Hello fellow geeks,
I was wondering if there is a way to assing ringtones to texts messages. so u could get different ringtones for different people.

I know you can save ringtones for each text message but I don't think this exists. Sorry.

Photo Contacts Pro has this feature. It's a little bloaty, but it's the only one I've found that decently handles large caller ID photos well. The rest is just icing.

hey there about you? you need to download or buy a ringtone maker which sends it ti your phone that when you choose to add to cantacts or whatever. hope this helps you. laters

Newbie here, hey whats up. What i do is record on notes then go to settings, sounds & notification, notification, im, then all your sound wav notes are in the drop down menu. this is how i change my incoming calls as well, i never pay for ringtones, i record my music on notes then pick which ever one i want for a ring tone.

to add ringtones to phone place them in \windows\rings

sometimes the mp3 for text messages, etc. go there and sometimes they go into \windows. I have been doing this for months on my mogul and it seems to switch with different roms that I use but mp3 format always works for me.

Get your mp3 from where ever you want.

Then I use mp3trim (freeware)on the pc to trim it to the part of the song that I want.
Htc Audio Manager on the ppc also has this feature but it is a little tricky to find the edited files after you make the ringtone to copy them to the right folder. I believe they are put into a different folder then the standard \windows\rings folder


After righting this all up I realized that I believe you really wanted to know if you can have different tones for different peoples texts. I dont think so but the programs that was suggested should work I just have never used it so cant tell yah anything about that.

There is no way to do this by default with WM. You can add 3rd party software. I think Photocontacs pro is one of them. Hope this helps.
