media streaming in standy

I have been searching throgh the threads and cannot seem to find an answer. I'm trying to run sirius stream and want to completely dim the screen to preserve battery life (ie standby) I thoght my 6700 did this but the mogul seems to go to a dead state and nothing plays. as soon as i take it out of stanby, it comes back on. is there a regedit for this?

use third party software to turn off the screen and lock the keys, but phone stays on. Power button brings it back. Lots of options out there.

you know of any small freebies that would do the trick? I take it there is no such regedit key for this and everybody is experiencing the same problem

Re: media streaming in standy

That is weird. I never messed with Sirius too much. The audio quality seemed low compared to Shoutcast (also it isn't free). Anyway, I know TCPMP will keep streaming shoutcast stations even after the screen has dimmed/turned off. Can't remember if that is normal or if it is a function of s2u2.

Re: media streaming in standy

not sure, but you could just have the backlight turn off after 30 seconds. its in settings/system/backlight. the screen itself doesnt use too much power.

Re: media streaming in standy

There is a setting in Windows Media for this. It used to work for me, but I haven't been able to get it to work in the last couple of ROMs (currently on 3.49).

From Windows Media: MENU --> OPTIONS --> BUTTONS tab (scroll over to the last tab)
The last option is TOGGLE SCREEN. Assign it to a hard button.

This will turn the screen off completely whenever you press the assigned button, and bring it back on again with the same button.

Let me know if it works. . . some trouble getting it to work lately on my end.
