4GB SD IS WRITE PROTECTED,what??

HI:
My 4GB SD won't let me formatt it since it got crazy when I tried to load some tomtom maps on it, it claims it is write-protected. I made sure it is physically unlocked, put tape on it,used pocket mechanic.....nothing worked yet. I tried the search feature here but nothing. Something gotta be done about that too...lol.
My mogul is able to see it and read it ok, it does execute the delete command and formatt like pocket mechanic but all comes right back. i am able to isolate one single file in "live search" that won't go away and seems to be the hold up..not sure,it is the 0m2t1
Thanks a lot.

Have you tried formatting it using your Desktop computer?

Indeed, matter of fact the SD is chilling in the adapter right now and plugged into my vista laptop. Good thing all my progs and info are backed up in another 1GB CARD. This doesn't seem like it is a new prob. I am searching.....thanks. If you find anything let me know.

And you've made sure that the little slider that says "lock" on the side of the adapter is not in the locked direction?

Hah, ok.

It seems I've underestimated you.

Have you used a program for your PPC called CNetX Flash Format?

There is a tool called HDD wipe on the internet, I believe at a website called hddgurus, check that out.

Re: 4GB SD IS WRITE PROTECTED,what??

I will give that a shot, however I am skeptical since I used SD Formatter V2.0 to no avail. Gotta get that protection out of there somehow. Can't format or anything if the protection is on.

Re: 4GB SD IS WRITE PROTECTED,what??

Ryan:
I tried the HDD Wipe but the same happened.it executes and all is good but the data is still in the SD card. Anyone with any suggestion, please don't hesitate. If I come across a solution I will certainly share. I read on here that this happened continuously on an HTC ppc ,not sure one of those Prophet or something....due to users turning the unit off and on and HTC suggested to avoid that,oh well. I dunno.
