GPS Seeking Satellites?

How long should it normally take the first time? I just flashed a new custom rom with GPS, went into my phone settings and turned on location setting...

Google Maps says GPS is working.. just cant find satellites....

Re: GPS Seeking Satellites?

do you have sprint? If so you should be able to get a lock within 10-15 seconds max... If it is taking longer than this you need a PRI update.... what ROM are you running and did you let customizations run? You can also manually update your PRI, I have a post about it if you search too...

Re: GPS Seeking Satellites?

updating your PRI will probably have no effect on alltel, I assumed you had sprint since your pocket pc tag said mogul. the reason it works for sprint is they officially support gps and therefore have a real gps assistance server..... you will probably have worse luck with alltel using gps and may have to go outdoors and wait a while for an initial lock, do NOT install a sprint PRI..... ROM version has little/no effect on gps times, radio is really the only thing that can effect this.... I was only asking because certain sprint ROMs contain PRI updates which enable the assistance server.... You may, on the other hand, want to make sure you are using a fully up to date radio...

Re: GPS Seeking Satellites?

OS rom does not affect GPS fix, the Radio rom does. make sure your radio is the latest, which is "verison 3.42.30"
