Still GPS Problems

Here is the situation.... ROM Version 3.35.671.9 Radio Version 3.37.20 According to everything I read, those are the specs you need to use the GPS on your phone. I have alltel, plus a brand new phone. None of the software I use seems to activate the gps. Tried Google Maps, GPS Viewer, VisualGPSce. Nothing. I have tried setting to COM4 and COM5 with 4800 baud rate and nothing. I am in dire need. Please help. When using Google Maps. It says Initializing GPS, for about 15 seconds. Then it says no GPS receiver can be found?

Re: Still GPS Problems

It seems to take quite a while to get the very first lock. I stood outside on a clear night the first time I tried using it and it took about 10-15 minutes to get a lock with Google Maps. You should be on COM4 with a baud rate of 4800.

Re: Still GPS Problems

My first lock took several minutes, after that it always worked right away, even after hard resets and such.

Re: Still GPS Problems

Sounds like you only have upgrade the "offical HTC Alltel" Rom, am I right?
That's not enough since the new Alltel Rom doesn't support GPS.....
Anyway, I attached the zip file here with all the files you needed.

Step 1: unzip and install HTC_GPS_Enable_for_Titan_3.35.cab, soft reset
Step 2: install the 1, 2, and 3 files one by one with soft reset in between
You should be done by now. If not, install the 1,2 and 3 files again.

Remember to turn on your GPS location

Hope that would help you
