Re: What is the White dot on the keyboard?
that would be the keypad light sensor, so it can tell when to turn on the keyboard backlight. cover it with your finger and then press a key and you'll see the qwerty keyboard light up.

Re: What is the White dot on the keyboard?
Ah, I see. I assume the purpose is to conserve battery life, although I bet it's trivial at best. I'm not going to use it though because it doesn't seem to b sensitive enough to pick up a dim lighting situation where it's nice to have that backlit keyboard.
BTW, is there a registry edit or .cab out there to have it put the backlight on automatically deending on the lighting situation without having to press a key? |

Re: What is the White dot on the keyboard?
Anytime the phone is turned on and the keyboard is open the backlight should be on if you changed that setting. I believe the keyboard shuts of when the screen dims if the phone is getting ready to go to standby.
If it doesn't, the phone might be problematic.
