activesync old information to new phone

Sprint replaced my old mogul with a new Mogul, I am now trying to activesync all my info from my computer to the new phone. It syncs as a new phone and won't put the other info on it. it still shows the other profile but can't get it to sync it.

I did 3 searchs and it came up with 500 links each time and nothing on the first 3-4 pages of each.

Any help or links would be appriciated

Thanks

try name the new Mogul with the same name s the old mogul, and when it start setting up the connection you can choose whatever info you want to be synced.

Is your old information saved to the computer? If so you should just be able to replace your new files with the old ones.

I have not been able to find the place to rename the phone to the old phones name.
I am not sure where the old info is is stashed on the computer or how to copy it over.
There has to be a simple way to do this I just can't seam to find it lol ](*,)

In ActiveSync on your pc, click File, Delete Mobile Device, then try to sync with your new Mogul.

If I delete the old device won't I lose all of my saved info?

on your phone:
Start > Settings > System > About > Device ID (tab)
change the device name to whatever the name on the old phone is.

If you delete the device in ActiveSync, your information should remain on your pc, you are just deleting the partnership. I am guessing since I occassionally have to do the same except all of my contacts are on our exchange server, so I have no issues.

Re: activesync old information to new phone

If you set up a partnership with the new phone it won't matter activesync will put your information on the new phone. contacts and calender appointments... u just have to set up the initial partnership with the new phone... This is the same thing if you flash another rom to your same phone and it gets wiped out. Once the partnership is setup it will sync the data to your new phone. To get old programs that you installed from the pc to the phone. connect the phone to the pc with activesync and once the connection is established go to tools in activesync and click add/remove programs anything you want to put back on the new phone that u installed previously through an exe that used activesync to put on the phone will show up in the add/remove programs list just put a checkmark in the boxx's to have them set up on the new phone.

Sorry for the long post. But I have been there and know how it feels to have a naked phone. The renaming the phone to the same name will not re-establish the same partnership even if its the same exact phone, model, activesync must store some file on the phone somewhere that it looks for to pair it up and identify it other then the name. I have tried with no luck after flashing the same exact phone rom to my phone, heck even a hard reset will wipe the partnership. You just have to setup a new one and it will re-sync all your data and contacts as long as it is still on the pc.
