mail button backlight no more

My Mogul is less than a year old and the backlight behind the hard mail button near the top has quit illuminating.

I hadn't installed anything recently and hadn't had any other trouble except for the occasional non answerable or non-sound/mic calls (which I think is caused by the bluetooth headset I started using a month ago).

I just noticed it randomly the other day and have tried everything short of a hard-reset. It doesn't seem to matter what I try, nothing seems to want to make the light come back on. The light behind the Internet Explorer button is still working fine.

I have searched through the various threads and have not found anyone with my dilemma.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, were you able to fix it or is the LED just burned out?

I don't think this could count as a manufacturer's defect since it has worked for 10 months without issue, and I don't want to be a week without a phone so if warranty replacement is the answer, I might just have to deal with it.

Nope. The light came back on for a bit, a bit dimmer than the IE backlight. And then just as suddenly, it went out again.

probably means a loose wire, that is barely making contact at times (hence dimmer then before) on the bright side(no pun intended) that is probably one of the least consequential things that can go wrong with your mogul.
