disable LEDs - safe way
*UPDATED*
the very bright LEDs hurt my eyes when it is late at night and dark in the room. - one fix would be a piece of tape over the leds. - another is nueled by no2chem yet another is to disable all leds temporarily. this is why this post is here. just get a program called task manager 3.1. download: http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm click the drop down arrow and goto 'DEVICES'. find the device called LED1. STOP IT THEN START IT THEN STOP IT AGAIN. (use the little blue square to stop, the little blue triangle to start it) OR hold down on LED1 for a popup. see pic that's it. you can also set task manager to open to the device menu by default. also, if u want the led to work again all u need to do is start the LED1 again then make a phone call, turn the wifi off then back on. http://www.dotfred.net/TM/images/dvcmgr.gif if you softreset, you will need to repeat the procedure all this does in Unload the AllLEDmgr.dll temporarily, not very sexy. nueled is an INTERMEDIARY driver. is it possible to re-write/modify the AllLEDmgr.dll so that it is the only LED driver running. i discused this problem on the nueLED thread. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ed&page=23#229 originally I thought other leds/lights whent out (keyboard, hard buttons). but I had my backlight set to low. this causes those mentioned not to illuminate. it also is not affected by putting your phone in stand by mode, as I originally thought. I love this fix now. leds where killin my eyes. |
Re: disable LEDs - safe way
You should try searching these forums for nueLED. That does all kinds of cool stuff with the LEDs fom re-mapping them and disabling them without disabling the keyboard light. Check it out!

nueLED has a sleep function, all that's needed is a reboot, something that's recommended anyway. heck even I need a reboot in the morning..

Re: disable LEDs - safe way
I have always used LED Killer 3.1. It does a great job of stopping the green flashing light, while leaving everything else normal. Works really well for what I needed it for.

Re: disable LEDs - safe way
i tried nuLED. it didnt like running on my phone. it started casuing 'slow downs' and 'lockups' :( so i decided to uninstall it. unfortunalty it cant be uninstalled, as of yet i assume. so i tried deleing the reg entries and they would come right back. i spent an hour tring to remove nueLED 1.5. tried using multiple reg editing programs and soft resets, etc. could not get rid of it.
Finaly, I 'Bit-the-bullet' and hard reset my phone(i hate hard reseting sooo much). I think NueLED is badass but it doesnt like my ROM i guess. wish it did. might try LED Killer but dont wanna have slowdowns or lockups. i put this here just for peeps who might have similar issues. its not a godd fix, at all, but it gets the job done. |

Re: disable LEDs - safe way
Yes...it uninstalls nicely. I've never had any problems with it. No slowdowns or lock-ups.
