Texting and Talking

I've looked everywhere. I THOUGHT at some point I was able to talk on the phone AND send a text message. Is this possible? I'd really like to be able to be on the phone and still be able to text on my 6800! Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

its default...make a call...press the messaging button while the call screen is on...no tweaks needed

Re: Texting and Talking

nope, not working. i always get an error back when i try to send a message. wondering if it could be the dialer or comm manager i'm using. or another program that isn't letting it work.

Re: Texting and Talking

Strange... Maybe try a different dialer. While in call, try pressing start>messaging. If that doesn't work, press Start>today then try start>messaging [or press the button at the top]

Re: Texting and Talking

It's an IT issue perhaps, I've done it before. Call Sprint's tech support and have them transfer you to Advanced tech support, they're the ones who have the best chance helping you. 1-800-639-6399 ex 3 from another phone. My guess is that MSID needs to be changed, or your device refreshed on the network.

Re: Texting and Talking

It works for me sometimes, but not for me other times. I have no idea why, but sometimes it refuses to send a message, and will usually not send it for the entire call. But other times I will be having large back and forth text message conversations while on the phone. I have no idea why. Even in the same location (my house). I have noticed also that sometimes (more rarely) it won't receive them either while I'm on the phone and as soon as I hang up a few will come through. You're probably experiencing the same thing I often do. It works (sending) more often than not for me, but it's still near half the time that it won't let me <shrug>...

I really doubt sprint's tech support will be of much assistance

Re: Texting and Talking

I text and talk at the same time all the time. I have no problems. I have the HTC 68800 through Alltel. I pupdated to the 3.37 about a week ago and I am still able to send receive text as well as talk on the phone.
