What's the best mobile internet browser?

I have a friend who just got a new iphone. I'm not at all interested in Apple, don't own an ipod I own a Zune. I'm die hard Microsoft. After checking out safari, I thought WOW! What a way to browse the web! I wanted to know what other people are using, since PIE sucks!! I've checked out Opera Mobile, and still have a couple days left. I just don't feel quite as impressed. So I wanted to know what everyone else is using... I hate that I almost need my stylus just to get around with PIE. I like the pan and scan of safari...

IF this post was already coverd, can someone please direct me, I've and I apologize for the repeat...

Re: What's the best mobile internet browser?

Well the best i have tried is Netfront browser, seems to display every page the best with finger scrolling. But it sometimes runs out of memory (ok all the time) which is why i stopped using it. Others like Opera, but i haven't tried the newest.

But really, what no one with WM phones really likes to admit is that viewing web-pages on your WM phone is kind of a joke at its current state (every good browser is slowwwww) which is why i have stopped using my phone to browse the internets (cept youtube)....

Maybe when MS develops Deepfish a bit more....

Re: What's the best mobile internet browser?

i dont think its a joke cuz with all the applications and advanced browser that i have in my ppc i do more in my mogul than my pc really. if you want to have the closest thing to safari then i recommend is Picsel Browser. it has the safari look and feel and looks awesome, the downside is that its too slow for my taste. but on my opinion the best browser right now is opera mobile. looks great, shows full page layouts including animations, zoom feature, page ovreview, multitab, page panning etc. so thats my vote

Re: What's the best mobile internet browser?

Yeah, I definitely like Opera Mobile better than PIE, however it's hard to justify the $24. I did notice that Opera appears to be running slower than PIE... Not sure it that's true, it may be my internet connection. Has anyone tried Opera Mini for WM6? Is it better or worse than Mobile?

Re: What's the best mobile internet browser?

In my personal opinion, and i've used alot of different browsers on my mogul. (pie, pieplus, opera mobile 8.65, opera mobile 9.405 beta, netfront 3.5, piscel, iris, opera mini 4.1 beta and skyfire beta) The one i find that give the best full desktop type browsing experience is opera mini 4.1. Skyfire is very good also, but its a closed beta. Netfront 3.5 and opera mobile definately let you do more with options like tabbed browsing, selecting text, flash plugin, and they're not a server based browser like opera mini. But i always seem to get memory errors with opera mobile, netfront and piscel. For my browsing needs, opera mini 4.1 works best for me. Its very fast and the newish 4.1 version added some nice features that we're missing. Its not perfect, but well worth the try. dschoenike

Re: What's the best mobile internet browser?

I have only used netfront and PIE and the last 3 versions of opera.. Obviously i prefer opera.. Netfront REALLY used memory and couldnt do anything while downloading or do multiple downloads.. Opera mobile has all the features and can handle surfing while doing a few downloads o (usually).. However, you do need to clear the cache often for heavy surfing.. the newest beta verson has really cool apperance and better finger control.. but its still beta and has a few bugs.. (like the keyboard not disappearing when using the hard keys!!.. Dealing with that now as i type this! urrghh..)
